Did you come? Would you like to see our pictures? ...click below. What an absolutely fantastic day, many were worried that the weather wouldn't hold, but as the day progressed and the clouds cleared we realised what a lovely day it was going to be. The day started early getting our marquees up and hall cleared ready for those who needed to use the facilities to get changed etc. We were very happy to be able to welcome many people - and even happier to give them a flag as the left! Thanks for all those who waved our flags during the carnival.
Plenty of cakes were ready and we were very pleased to raise £100 from your kind donations for the Down's Syndrome Charity. Maybe you stood and looked at all the photos of the activities that go on at our Church - as you will have seen we are a very busy Church! Our Sunday School got ready and at the right time were delighted to put on their costumes from our Samson play earlier this year and join the procession. After a long walk on very hot tarmac... a tired group of excited children arrived at the Winton Recreational Ground for even more fun! This year for the first time we had a stall and put on some fantastic puppet shows (at least we thought they were fantastic, and hope you agree!). We did shows every hour on Jonah and Samson. Some of our friends from our Church in Maidenhead came to help us - which was really useful, since they have done this a few times before. Over the 6 hours, we must have shown the performances to over 200 children - and if you were eagle eyed, you may have spotted out walking puppet theatre. Did you see him? Whilst we were having all the fun with the puppets others were helping to clear up at our Church and in the Winton High Steet... its the little things that make such a difference, so thanks to those who worked so hard. At 5pm a tired group of performers cleared up the equipment and went home for a rest! But what an amazing day, we loved it - and hope you did too. Let's see what we can do next year!
